The fight before the light went out
Humanity was already fighting over artificial intelligence: how far it should advance, and who should have the right to control it. There was no single answer to either question. People on each side thought the stakes were too high to leave in someone else’s hands.
Then Good and Evil intervened. Each came with its own view of how the world should be. Their arrival changed the scale of a human conflict that had already begun.
Humanity’s last hope goes dark
The lighthouse was humanity’s last hope. When Good and Evil came, its light went out.
The story has not yet answered why. The moment matters because of what came after: a beacon people depended on was dark, and the world around it was no longer governed by the people who had once claimed it.
A pivotal place in a broken war
The lighthouse remains a central point of contention and a pivotal fighting point in the game world. Different people and forces have reason to fight over it, even if the full reasons are not yet public.
The military were already fighting when Good and Evil arrived. As human command structures broke down, people ended up fighting for different sides, for their own communities, or for no one but themselves. Former uniforms do not tell you whose orders a survivor follows now.
The questions still open
This introduction does not say what extinguished the light, what the lighthouse can still do, or what restoring it would accomplish. Those details belong to a story that is still in development.
