Survival horror

NO DAWN
PROMISED

Scavenge for supplies, build a camp and keep its people alive in a world of undead and supernatural threats.

Start with the essentials: food, water, a weapon and somewhere to return to. Search abandoned houses, gather materials and turn what you bring back into better equipment and stronger defences.

As the camp grows, rescue survivors, take on jobs and explore the crypts, sewers and bunker. The story leads toward a lighthouse, while harder nights put your preparation to the test.

The game so far

Game systems

These systems form the current game. They are still being expanded and refined as development continues.

01

Survival & changing conditions

Manage health, stamina, hunger and thirst. Rain fills collectors and quiets movement, but leaves you wet in the cold. Food spoils, so cooking, smoking meat and storing supplies matter between trips.

  • Day and night cycle
  • Weather
  • Food preservation
02

Scavenging, crafting & equipment

Search houses and military supplies, mine stone and ore, and find blueprints. Workstations turn salvage into ammunition, medicine, weapon modifications and building materials. Carry weight, weapon wear and armour repairs affect what you take out.

  • Loot rarities
  • Weapon modifications
  • Mining and forging
03

Building & camp defence

Build a shelter, add stations and upgrade wooden walls to stone or metal. Set traps, place turrets and fuel generators for floodlights and electric fences. Clear a house to establish a smaller safehouse away from camp.

  • Modular buildings
  • Powered defences
  • Safehouses
04

Combat & enemy behaviour

Use firearms, melee weapons and throwables. Gunfire and sprinting draw nearby enemies; suppressors, quieter weapons and distractions change how you approach a fight. Elite enemies bring armour, poison, speed and other threats. Dungeons introduce bosses and better loot.

  • Noise and distractions
  • Elite enemies
  • Boss encounters
05

Survivors & companions

Rescue people and give them beds, food and work. Farmers, guards, cooks, scavengers, medics and engineers help sustain the camp. Morale affects whether they stay. Take a resident out as a companion, or find and befriend the dog.

  • Resident jobs
  • Morale and supplies
  • Companions
06

Farming, fishing & animals

Plant crops, fish the lake and hunt wildlife for food and materials. Tame livestock for milk and wool, keep guard animals, or ride a horse. Animals need care and protection from the same threats you face.

  • Crops and fishing
  • Livestock
  • Horse riding
07

Exploration, jobs & story

Trade with the Keeper and Quartermaster, complete jobs and follow journal clues into dangerous locations. Supply drops, rescue events and raids interrupt the routine. Story progression connects the camp, underground areas and the lighthouse.

  • Trading and quests
  • World events
  • Dungeons
08

Skills & progression

Develop your character's skills and improve the camp to open up more options. Choose Story, Survivor or Hardcore rules. Hardcore feats unlock starting kits and traits for later runs, and the world continues in Endless after the story.

  • Character skills
  • Camp upgrades
  • Legacy unlocks

Being worked on now

In development

The current focus is how the game moves, looks and introduces its world. These changes are work in progress, with testing and review still ahead of release.

Testing

Movement & action animations

Smoother starts, stops and turns, better arm and finger motion, and survival actions that fit the existing movement system. Weapon grips and staff casting are part of the current pass.

In progress

Characters & clothing

Facial animation, modular character bodies and outfits, plus cloth motion for loose shirts and trousers. Work includes keeping clothing fitted while moving, equipping gear and changing poses.

In progress

Monsters & damage

New demonic monster models, anatomical damage and dismemberment. The new models and damage effects are being refined and reviewed before they replace the current enemies.

In progress

Opening, lore & tutorial

A new opening cinematic, clearer tutorial lessons and world progression that matches the story. Character presentation and the route toward the lighthouse are being developed together.

Further development

Coming next

Features being built and the work planned beyond them. Timing depends on testing; no release dates are set for these updates.

  1. In development / testing

    Shared-world multiplayer

Host and join the main outdoor world, with shared resources, building and persistent characters. Camp and trade posts provide protected areas; PvP takes place outside them. Shared interiors and dungeons still need further work.

  2. In development / testing

    Trade routes & player crews

Take cargo contracts, move physical shipments and share delivery rewards with a crew. Rival players can steal cargo outside safe areas, and the original crew can recover it. This system is being integrated into the same world and inventory.

  3. Planned / further work

    Public dedicated servers

Work toward persistent online hosting, secure player accounts and tested server capacity. Deployment, anti-cheat and larger-session testing are still required before public servers can open.
